Sam Hannah-Rankin is the Director of Public Sector Innovation for the Department of Premier and Cabinet in Victoria.
Since its establishment in 2015, Public Sector Innovation (publicsectorinnovation.vic.gov.au) has launched the $11m Public Sector Innovation Fund, a central Behavioural Insights Unit and the whole of government Public Sector Innovation Strategy. It also leads government engagement in the Nesta Public Innovation Learning Collective, and is one of 8 jurisdictions internationally piloting the States of Change program (states-of-change.org).
Sam’s prior career alternated between management consulting in strategy, digital business models and innovation; and the design and delivery of new businesses in corporates such as Australia Post, Bendigo Bank and Fairfax Digital. She also has operational and risk management experience in identity and financial services.
Sam has an Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, a MA in Ancient Greek Literature from the University of Melbourne, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Corporate Directors.
