Abstract
Brian Babington will canvas the main achievements of, and future directions for, the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2009–2020 —the first-ever national plan of action to promote child safety and wellbeing adopted by the Council of Australian Governments. With the National Framework due to conclude in 2020, he will explore future scenarios. One option is to devise an overarching national plan for child wellbeing, encompassing several wellbeing domains, including but not limited to protecting children, akin to Scotland’s “Getting it Right for Every Child” initiative.
