Abstract
Couple Relationship Education (CRE) has been languishing in Australia in recent decades, apart from the continuation of a small number of mainly religious-based pre-nuptial programs, and the use by those who are separating or contemplating separation—many of whom now make use of community-based family and relationship support services. In this session, possible reasons for the decline of couple relationship education, as well as ideas for ideas for supporting and enriching couple relationships in the Australian context are offered. This presentation dovetails into a broader argument to be developed by the symposium presenters.
